Unexpected tax bill? Missing deductions? Last-minute scramble?
We take the stress out of taxes with proactive planning,
year-round compliance, and ongoing support.
Most owners only think about taxes once a year. When they file in April, opportunities to reduce their bill have already passed. Every financial decision has tax implications, and reducing your tax bill requires careful planning, not a last-minute fix.
Entity structure, owner compensation, retirement contributions, and the timing of income and expenses all change what you owe. The best strategies require action before year-end, not after.
A deduction you cannot support is one you cannot claim. Maintaining clean books throughout the year ensures every deduction is documented, every opportunity is captured, and tax decisions are based on real numbers.
Quarterly estimates, extensions, and filing dates all need to be tracked and met. Penalties and interest are the most common tax costs business owners pay, but they’re also the easiest to avoid.
Taxes are likely your biggest expense as a business owner.
We build you a plan to minimize your tax bill.
Accurate tax returns, filed on time, no deadlines missed.
Stop reacting to taxes. Start planning ahead.
Not every tax obligation shows up on a tax return.

Before we file

Yes. We provide ongoing tax planning to help reduce your tax bill through income and expense timing, retirement plan optimization, entity structure planning, and more.
Business owners have more control than most taxpayers over their income, expenses, and the timing of financial decisions. Tax planning looks forward to find those opportunities while there is still time to act on them, rather than reporting what has already happened.
We can prepare and file your return only without any tax planning. If you own a business, however, we first need to review your books to ensure the information reported is accurate, since we are responsible for signing your return. The book review is billed separately.
We prepare federal, state, and local returns for individuals, S-corps, C-corps, LLCs, and partnerships. We also handle multi-state filings, extensions, and amended returns when needed.
We manage filings across states to help you stay compliant, including Washington B&O and local business taxes. If you sell or operate in more than one state, we look at where you have nexus and what that means for your filings.
Start with a no-obligation call. We’ll talk through your situation and how Book Pillar CPA can help you achieve your goals.
